Psalm Sixty-Nine - Deep Mire
"Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. I am weary with my crying; my throat is dry; my eyes fail while I wait for my God," Psalm 69:1-3, NKJV. #DeepMire
Falling into a situation virtually impossible to escape from is often spoken of as being trapped in deep mire, or mud or deep water, in both the literal and metaphorical sense as presented in scripture; it is the place where with the last remaining vestiges of life, all we can do is call on the Lord Jesus for help.
Job 30:16-23, Jeremiah 38:1-6 and 2 Peter 2:18-22.
