God promised Abraham with an oath, swearing by Himself, that He would make his descendants as numerous as the sand on the seashore and the stars in heaven, and he believed and God called him righteous; it is with the that same faith, even the faith of Jesus Christ, provided to us in the gift of salvation, that gives us the confidence and expectation of eternal life through the promise that our Lord made to us.
