The scriptures speak of a 'pursuer of blood' or an 'avenger of blood,' a person who seeks to kill another or others because of death the accused are responsible for; usually in times past, places of sanctuary were designated until fair judgement was made, but for those who unjustly kill the people of God, there is no escape when Christ pursues to take revenge.
