A sudden, significant occurrence or "spiritual awakening" in the life of a person in the scriptures is oftentimes exemplified by a change in their name; some renamed themselves, while others received it by the hand of another person, like a king, or sometimes, by even God Himself.
Daniel 1:7, Matthew 16:17-18 and Acts 13:9.
