Genesis Twenty-Two - Tempting Testing
"Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, 'Abraham!' And he said, 'Here I am.' Then He said, 'Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you,'" Genesis 22:1-2, NKJV. #TemptingTesting
The word "tested" in this passage is more accurately translated from the archaic word for "tempt", meaning to put to trial or assay; though the scriptures speak of how the Lord often tries our hearts, it strictly commands us to never attempt to examine Him.
Exodus 17:2, Acts 5:8-9 and 1 Corinthians 10:8-10.
