Exodus Thirty-One - Stone Tablets

"And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God," Exodus 31:18, NKJV. #StoneTablets
The word 'tablets' in some translations of the scriptures is a derivative of its more archaic relative 'tables', which aren't used for eating, but were made of polished stone for inscribing the word God; however, believers in Jesus Christ are called living epistles of God, with the word of the Lord written on our hearts.
Deuteronomy 10:1-5, Habakkuk 2:2 and 2 Corinthians 3:3.
