The trumpet call was often used in the scriptures to instruct the masses of a time sensitive matter, not only to signify phases of the moon, for example, but also in actions of war or as a beacon to announce movement; at the end of time, the Lord Jesus will send his angels to blow their trumpets to gather His elect.
