While the Lord eventually set up base in Israel with Jerusalem as its capital, much of the scriptures speak of the frequent movement of not only the people of God, but particularly his appointed ministers;
Jesus Himself never remained stagnant, but journeyed from place to place, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.
