"So she said to him, 'My father, if you have given your word to the Lord, do to me according to what has gone out of your mouth, because the Lord has avenged you of your enemies, the people of Ammon.' Then she said to her father, 'Let this thing be done for me: let me alone for two months, that I may go and wander on the mountains and bewail my virginity, my friends and I,'" Judges 11:36-37, NKJV. #HumanSacrifice
One of the most common themes in the holy scriptures is the concept of offering animals to God, but the practice of human sacrifice, though rarely mentioned, seems to be just as prevalent; whether through the act of another person carrying out the ceremony or someone taking their own life, the custom points directly to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who laid down His own life so that we might receive forgiveness of sins, the Word of God, the Holy Spirit and the expectation of living with Him in the kingdom of God forevermore.
