Judges Nine - Mass Assassinations

"So they gave him seventy shekels of silver from the temple of Baal-Berith, with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless men; and they followed him. Then he went to his father’s house at Ophrah and killed his brothers, the seventy sons of Jerubbaal, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, because he hid himself," Judges 9:4-5, NKJV. #MassAssassinations
There have been mass assassinations throughout the scriptures, when groups of people have been set apart from others, gathered together and slain all at once; it is usually done at the behest of a leader or king as retribution returned for a past deed, during a transfer of power or when executing justice for wrongdoing.
