Because man is made in the image and likeness of God, there are many human characteristics He shares with His creation, like remembering and forgetting; the scriptures tell us how the Lord has a way of stepping away from a situation, and removing Himself for awhile, as to put it out of His mind, then later on coming back and refocusing His attention to it again.
