"And David made himself a name when he returned from killing eighteen thousand Syrians in the Valley of Salt. He also put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became David’s servants. And the Lord preserved David wherever he went," 2 Samuel 8:13-14, NKJV. #PostingGarrisons
In the ancient times, and still today, whenever a nation's power and influence began to spread to surrounding regions, they often set up garrisons, or security posts, manned with soldiers at strategic geographic points to monitor the flow of who and what passed through; many battles and daring escapes by God's servants took place in these areas.
