Ezra Ten - Pagan Wives

"Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, 'You have transgressed and have taken pagan wives, adding to the guilt of Israel. Now therefore, make confession to the Lord God of your fathers, and do His will; separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the pagan wives,'" Ezra 10:10-11, NKJV. #PaganWives
The word 'pagan' in the scriptures is a translation of the original word 'strange', which in context means 'foreign' or outside the community of people belonging to the nation of Israel; it was strictly forbidden to marry pagan wives, being direct cause of the downfall of the country, just as spiritually speaking on this side of the cross, intermingling with others from a different faith is shunned.
