Second Chronicles Twenty-Five - Biblical Parables

 

"And Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, 'The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, "Give your daughter to my son as wife"; and a wild beast that was in Lebanon passed by and trampled the thistle. Indeed you say that you have defeated the Edomites, and your heart is lifted up to boast. The scriptures contain a plethora of parables, the majority of them spoken by Jesus, which give allegorical stories and statements that indirectly convey spiritual truth; dreams and visions given by God also tend to communicate in a kind of parabolic language.
