Just as there awaits eternal rest in the kingdom of God up in heaven on the other side of life for those who have been saved by the Lord Jesus Christ, there also is a house of imprisonment for those who are not His; it is called the Pit, and it is almost always described as a place reached by traveling downward, far beneath the surface of the earth.
