Ezekiel Twenty-Seven - Merchant Economies
"Syria was your merchant because of the abundance of goods you made. They gave you for your wares emeralds, purple, embroidery, fine linen, corals, and rubies," Ezekiel 27:16, NKJV. #MerchantEconomies
The scriptures, in various places, list items of luxury characteristic of a worldly life of material abundance, grown to incredible proportions of increase through successful merchant economies; however, though this apparent affluence might seem praiseworthy, God constantly reminds us not to pursue these fleeting, and always temporal pleasures, but to instead direct our attention to His Son Jesus Christ and the eternal, spiritual valuables that will never perish.
1 Kings 10:14-29, Proverbs 31:10-31 and Revelation 18:9-24.
