There are moments in the holy scriptures when the wisdom of God doesn't allow all things to come to light and therefore commands that they must be kept secret; sometimes, the truth must be kept hidden, often to save life, to eventually be revealed in His perfect time.
Genesis 12:10-14, Joshua 2:1-7 and Acts 9:23-25.
