Now therefore, deliver up the men, the perverted men who are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death and remove the evil from Israel!' Competing factions within a nation which split apart and eventually lead to some type of civil war is very common in the scriptures, especially between Judah and Israel; it mirrors the war in heaven that took place, dividing the loyalties among the angels in the heavenly kingdom, and led to the casting out of a third of them, along with their leader Lucifer, to earth.
