First Chronicles Three - David's Sons

"Now these were the sons of David who were born to him in Hebron: The firstborn was Amnon, by Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; the second, Daniel, by Abigail the Carmelitess; the third, Absalom the son of Maacah, the daughter of Talmai, king of Geshur; the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; the fifth, Shephatiah, by Abital; the sixth, Ithream, by his wife Eglah," 1 Chronicles 3:1-3, NKJV. #DavidsSonsWhile it is true that David had many sons, being the "son of David" was a title conferred upon those of the "house of David" and especially of those with a direct lineage; it was also used as a designation for the Messiah, Jesus Christ, whose earthly bloodline could be traced back to the king.
