"Also to Shemaiah his son were sons born who governed their fathers’ houses, because they were men of great ability. The sons of Shemaiah were Othni, Rephael, Obed, and Elzabad, whose brothers Elihu and Semachiah were able men. All these were of the sons of Obed-Edom, they and their sons and their brethren, able men with strength for the work: sixty-two of Obed-Edom. And Meshelemiah had sons and brethren, eighteen able men," 1 Chronicles 26:6-9, NKJV. #AbleMen
The word 'able' in the many versions of scripture is usually derived from the phrase 'men of valor' or 'mighty men' in the original English text, coming from the Hebrew, or the word 'sufficient' from the earliest translations of the Greek; the meaning is mostly the same, as it speaks of those qualified to do a certain work in the areas of military warfare and also ministering the word of God, and in the latter sense, the wherewithal to perform the task being directly imbued by the Lord Jesus Christ.
Exodus 18:21-22, 2 Kings 3:21 and 2 Corinthians 3:4-6.
