Second Chronicles Thirty-One - Treasure Heaps

"As soon as the commandment was circulated, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of grain and wine, oil and honey, and of all the produce of the field; and they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything. And the children of Israel and Judah, who dwelt in the cities of Judah, brought the tithe of oxen and sheep; also the tithe of holy things which were consecrated to the Lord their God they laid in heaps," 2 Chronicles 31:5-6, NKJV. #TreasureHeapsThe word 'heap' or 'heaps' is used in the scriptures to denote a piling up, usually of stones for a landmark or to cover a burial, or to describe a mound of something, like the rubble of a city which was destroyed; it is also a verb which designates the gathering up of riches, in both a positive sense, like for a collection for the work of the service of God or the poor, or in a negative manner, as the hording of money by the wealthy.
