From the very beginning, instead of mankind worshiping the Father in heaven and His Son Jesus Christ, who created them, they had the tendency of making their own gods to praise, which of course, was a great abomination in His eyes; according to scripture, these idols were usually crafted from precious metals, like silver and gold.
Isaiah 2:20-21, Hosea 8:4 and Revelation 9:20.
